In 1994 A European Commission identified a number of areas, including the Home Care area as having particular potential for job creation,arising from this, fourteen agencies in Limerick and North Cork initiated this project, which would focus on community care in rural areas.

1998 - Community Employment project started in Hospital, Co.Limerick, providing Homecare services for older persons and people with disabilities.

2000 – Community Employment project started in Churchtown, Co.Cork, providing similar services in North Cork and East Limerick.

2002 - Community Services Programme commenced in Hospital, Co.Limerick.This programme is also part funded by: Health Service Executive, Mid West Area (Section 39)

2004 - The administration and delivery of Chiropody Service for older persons for Limerick City, this project is funded by The Health Service Executive, Mid West Area.

2006 - RCCN commenced as a service provider with The Health Service Executive, Mid West Area, providing homecare through the implementation of Homecare Grant Package.
